To begin my stained glass pieces, I draw out a template and then photocopy it. I then number each piece on both templates before cutting one up. I use the pieces of the cut up template to trace around on the glass to ensure the shape is right. I then cut the glass to its required shape and place it on the other template to ensure that it lines up with all the other pieces of glass. After all the pieces are cut out, I then use a grinder to remove any rough edges. After cleaning the glass to remove any lines left by the marker and dust, I then put the copper foil around each individual piece. I then go on to put flux around all the edges of the glass before carefully soldering all the pieces together. I then apply some patina to the soldering seams before cleaning the piece in warm soapy water.
